The Disaster Management Conference is a comprehensive, half-day event focused on promoting cutting-edge U.S. technology, innovation, and research to enhance disaster management capabilities. Leveraging the partnership between the MIT ASEAN Initiative, the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok and the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), the conference will feature distinguished U.S. and regional experts. It will collaborate with academia, public and private sectors in key areas such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, remote sensing and satellite monitoring, robotics, augmented reality, crisis mapping, and blockchain for aid distribution.
The Conference aims to foster open dialogue on disaster management and policy, expand understanding of contemporary technology and trends in disaster management, and highlight American expertise in disaster management research and practice. Additionally, it seeks to create opportunities for American private sector representatives to engage with policymakers, academics, non-governmental organizations, and thought leaders in Thailand and ASEAN countries.
